Care Instructions

Jewellery

All pieces are 100% nickel and lead free and are suitable
for daily wear. All of our jewellery is plated 1 micron thick in 14k Gold or Rhodium for silver jewellery, as well as an e-coating for a premium finish.

In order for your jewellery to last as long as possible, we
recommend the following care instructions for wear and safe keeping:

  • All our jewellery is water resistant and tarnish free. For the longest possible wear out of your jewels, we recommend removing them before immersing into water, however the tarnish free nature of our plated stainless-steel pieces means they can get wet and be worn in all your day-to-day activities without any damage.
  • Keep your jewels in a box or the original packaging provided when you are not wearing them
  • Keep your jewellery in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight.
  • Try keeping your pieces away from one another to avoid any scratches from friction.

When cleaning your jewellery, take a gentle, extra care
approach to avoid damaging or scratching your pieces.

Do not use any chemicals to clean your jewellery. Instead
use a warm, wet soft cloth or cotton bud and do not rub too hard.

After cleaning, you can gently polish your pieces with a
soft, dry 100% cotton or microfibre cloth to bring back the shine and to remove
marks or light tarnishing - but be careful not to over polish as this may affect the gold plating.

Please note – Everyone’s skin varies in PH levels. The oils
in your skin may have a higher level of acidity than others, which may cause your jewellery to oxidise and cause discolouration.

Please note that all metals oxidise naturally with time and
will require maintenance.

Timber Furniture

Timber furniture brings natural beauty and warmth to any space, and with proper care,
it can last for generations.

We suggest avoiding direct sunlight, control humidity, and use coasters and mats under drinks, plates and other items on your item to prolong your item.

To care for your timber item, we recommend regular dusting with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. This will help prevent buildup of dirt and grime that can scratch the surface. For deeper cleans, use a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth to remove any moisture. Avoid using excessive water as it can damage the timber. Use a
gentle, non-abrasive cleaner specifically design for wood, and always spot test in an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.

Periodically polish your timber furniture with a quality furniture polish or wax to maintain its look and protection to the surface. For untreated or oiled wood, consider reapplying a suitable oil, such as linseed or teak oil, to nourish and protect the timber.

Minor scratches can often be repaired with a matching wood filler or wax crayon. For deeper scratches and damage, consult a professional furniture restorer.

Teak Furniture

To ensure longevity on your pieces, we suggest using a specific teak sealer for indoor and outdoor use. You can use a sealer on any furniture or decor item, and it will not affect the colour or stain of your item. Please check with a timber professional to clarify which sealer would work best. Our pieces leave our factory with a natural oil to finish the timber treatment, please be careful with fabrics, carpets and floors as this may stain.

The greying of teak is a natural characteristic, especially in covered outdoor environments. To maintain your teak item's optimal condition, we recommend protecting it from elements like rain, direct sunlight, and salt air. Reapplying a protective clear coat periodically, particularly for outdoor use, can help preserve its appearance. For a natural finish, we suggest using beeswax oil.

To clean your teak furniture, use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to remove dirt and dust. Avoid household chemicals or water-based cleaners, as they may stain the teak. Always perform a spot test before using any product on the timber.

Rattan & Woven Furniture

Our rattan and woven pieces are handwoven with durable materials designed for long-lasting use. These rattan products have a protective thin coating to enhance their longevity. For high-traffic areas, we recommend using a seat cushion to extend the life of your rattan or woven furniture. Over time, the weave may fray or come undone. Depending on the damage, you may be able to glue the damaged strips back down or reweave them. If a string breaks, we suggest contacting a furniture repair specialist for assistance.

To remove dust or dirt from your rattan or woven furniture, use a soft brush vacuum or a dry toothbrush. For poly-synthetic weaves, a damp cloth or water-based cleaning product can be used to remove more stubborn marks. Always spot test on an inconspicuous area before full application.

Ceramics

To care for your ceramic item, we suggest ‘less is more’ with natural materials, like ceramic. Please use warm water, and a non-abrasive cloth or sponge and a safe eco-based or water-based cleaner that is specifically recommended for ceramic, stone or marble use. Please avoid using any harsh cleaners with acidic substances that will damage and dull the finish.

If using a chemical, we highly recommend spot testing first prior to proceeding.

Lamp Shade

Lamp shades are delicate and can dent easily, so handle them with care. When changing light bulbs, hold onto the lamp base to keep it
secure.

To clean your lamp shade, gently dust it with a clean, dry
cloth or duster, taking care not to dent it. Avoid using cleaning products unless you have spot-tested them first.

Soft Furnishing

Our collection of soft furnishings and cushions features handwoven and screen-printed designs, which may exhibit variations in colour
and pattern. These variations are not considered defects; they add to the unique charm of each piece.

Bouclé, screen-printed, and handwoven cushions and throws are not machine washable. We recommend gently hand washing them with mild detergent and allowing them to air dry. Do not tumble dry.

Hommey Products

All items from Hommey are 100% cotton. Hommey recommends caring for your item, a warm machine wash, cool tumble dry and cool iron only.

Do not bleach, or dry clean your item.

If you have a snagged loop, please do not pull it. Simply cut off the loop with sharp scissors to avoid any further pulling – this will not affect the items performance.
